Doctor Claire Roget takes up a post as clinical psychiatrist at Greatbach Secure Psychiatrist Unit, following the murder of her predecessor Heidi Faro by Stefan Giulio, one of the inmates. The clever and manipulative Jerome Barclay taunts her with allusions to Heidi's murder, before turning his attention to nurse Kristyna Gale. When Kristyna disappears, Claire is trapped between medical confidentiality and protecting the public against a dangerous individual. Until, that is, the charred remains of Kristyna's body are found in a burnt out car...just the way Jerome Barclay had hinted.
