Lydia, a born again Christian, has lost her husband. Raising her only child, Agopolis, Lydia strives to teach him right from wrong. But, Marcus, a playful, playboy tax-collector, is always hounding her since losing his wife to an illness. Lydia resists Marcus, who reads every writing he can to try and figure out why his wife had to die. He doesn't believe in any God. That is, until his son becomes deathly ill. The Roman gods and doctors can't help, so he turns to Lydia's God, Jesus. After a miracle healing, Marcus puts his trust in Jesus. Then, the persecution starts. It has a happy ending, but the perils they go through are huge. The story contains familiar hymns sung by many of the characters. A drama with comedic elements set around 325 AD.
