Publisher's Synopsis

"A Passage Through Time" tells the story of Chris, who comes to England in her early 30s to try to leave her past behind. Whilst in London, she is unexpectedly transported two hundred years back in time where she encounters Sarah, a runaway black slave who is trying to escape from her persecutors. After finally accepting that time travel is real, she hopes to unravel the puzzle of her new world. Both women will encounter dangerous adventures during their journey to London, where public executions are still carried out. Finally, they decide to head to Brighton where Sarah hopes to find the ship that will take her far away from danger and from a life without any possible future. As if this was not enough, Chris also has to fight new and unsettling feelings for her new friend. Not in a hundred years could she have imagined falling in love with a woman, but then fate tears them apart. Back in the present, Chris finds herself confused by fleeting visions, a reality that she should try to accept and the growing feeling that she should try to find Sarah somewhere in time. But how can she do that? And what possible future can they have?
