Twenty years from now the appearance of a ghost train in Tally McDowell's parents' diner will send her on a quest that will change her life, forcing her to choose between risking all to reveal a dangerous conspiracy and walking away to stay safe. Sixty years prior to Tally's choice, something or someone fell to earth, refugees from a far-away struggle between good and evil. Fallen angels, aliens, "others," and whatever they may be called, there is a secret conspiracy that seeks to control them and join our world in a war against good. Things get out of hand, though, when five survivors of a train wreck all vanish mysteriously. The one survivor who did not vanish will do anything to bring the responsible people to justice, including enlisting the unwitting aid of Tally.
