About the Author Mary Hosmar is a retired teacher who has spent many years in the classroom passing on her love of history to her students. She feels that one of the best ways to instill this love is to make history come alive by relating the stories around the facts. Although A Matter of Conscience deals with a small episode of Canadian history, it also addresses the conflict within when one's principles may not coincide with those of one's parents. Mary lives in Oshawa with her husband, John.
