Publisher's Synopsis
This is a practical handbook which provides guidance for the management of patients undergoing recovery from cardiac and heart-lung transplantation. The text is based on the day-to-day practices of the Freeman Hospital but it also draws on experience from other centres. The authors assume only a basic knowledge of cardiac physiology and pathology and familiarity with routine care of the patient following conventional cardiac surgery, therefore the text is suitable for all grades of staff including specialist nurses.
