Publisher's Synopsis
The backpack Mark threw together got raided, leaving him in a foreign country, about to embark on the hike of a lifetime without the support of the medications that was once a staple of his sanity. They helped put the pieces of a terrified child together, but that was a long time ago. He'd be fine. Wouldn't he? It was just few days after all, and he really needed to get away for a while. There was no turning back, it didn't matter how many messages from his psychiatrist he'd have to dodge. The jungle called to him and they set out, only to find that the supposedly peaceful villagers were anything but. To make matters worse something else appeared out there with him. A dark spot in the already murky underbrush which taunted him with the answer to a question just beyond his grasp, a nagging suspicion in the back of his head that wouldn't let up. Will his group make it out without succumbing to the dangers around them? Is the greatest threat out there really their fellow man? You can never be too sure about the meaning behind a person's smile. Not even your own.
