Publisher's Synopsis

For his entire life, Derrell Rodine has loved hunting. His enjoyment of hunting has been both personal and professional, as he has led countless hunters through his Saskatchewan company, Scattergun Outfitters. In this memoir, Derrell reflects on the wonderful people he has met and the experiences he has enjoyed. He also recounts a serious illness he thought might lead to death, or at the very least keep him from ever hunting again. Beneath Derrell's tales of adventures and escapades is a man of deep faith who loves God, his family, and his country.

Derrell Rodine was born and raised in the Weyburn, Saskatchewan area. After graduating as a psychiatric nurse, he and his wife lived in Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg, and enjoyed hunting all over Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In 1975, he purchased land near where his grandfather had homesteaded. Derrell raised and released pheasants for a number of years. Scattergun Outfitters evolved from this. Hunters from all over North America have hunted with Derrell and his son, Craig. Many of these clients have become close personal friends. Derrell carries a deep respect for the land and the wildlife that inhabit that land. Derrell has a personal faith in our Creator and is involved in many church and community activities.
