Publisher's Synopsis
The poems contained within are laid bare in the order that they were written. The timeline from which they flow occurred over a number of years and so the space between poems is not constant. Some had been written on the same day, others were written months or even years apart. You will feel the emotions and events as I felt them. Over the highest mountains and into the lowest valleys, this story will always surprise you, as emotions and feelings often do. I have included letters I have written, placed at points that will best describe how I was feeling at that exact moment. They are a window into the timeline of my life as the poems are a window into my heart. I ask that these pages speak to you as they have so often spoken for me.
What follows is a chronicle of love gained and love lost. When the emotions became too great, poems flowed forth. Some have come out of elation and a love so strong that my heart could not hold it. Others rose up from a place so dark and destitute that they should not have flowed from the same hand. Love itself is torturous, even when we do not want to feel its pull, so often do we fall into its abyss. It is dark, it is beautiful, there is light at the end, there is sorrow all throughout; but yet, we cannot help but chase after it.
