After twenty years apart, Lynn receives an unexpected phone call from her old high school flame. Through a series of phone calls, she discovers her former sweetheart, Adam, isn't happily married. He tells her that he envies her lifestyle because she chose to remain single and not have children. She lends a sympathetic ear and is happy to hear that he decides to stay with his wife and raise his little girl as a married unit. Many years later, when Adam's daughter has left home, he seeks out Lynn and tells her he is going to marry her. Shocked by Adam's brashness, Lynn is not in the position to accept his advances. She's made a comfortable life for herself with a chosen companion, Richard, and she is quite content. She does, however, still love Adam and always has. Will contentment suffice when it is in contention with true love? Will Lynn keep promises made to Richard even though Adam is free to be with her?
