The sky was a beautiful blue that day with white puffy clouds and the summer air was the perfect temperature. Not too hot and the light breeze made it feel tranquil. Our dog was running around playing with the girls as I hosed off the pony. I was just about to have the girls help me put some soap on him when a vehicle drove in and pulled up beside our old dairy barn. It was a 318is BMW Montreal blue 2-door sports car, and it was very cool. I hadn't seen any cars like that since I left California years ago. The door opened and out stepped this woman. That is when I met Cheryl, and that is when my life changed forever. She was desperate to move her horse from the terrible situation he was in, and she asked me if I would be willing to take her horse in at our farm. Little did I know that this chance meeting would take me on a journey of becoming a living kidney donor, along with the good and bad that was all part of it. All these years later, I would do it again.
