Publisher's Synopsis
Told partly from the point of view of Buffalo Bill's favorite horse, Soldier Boy, this story originally appeared in Harper's Magazine in 1906 divided over two issues. The inspiration for Cathy Alison, the lead character, is believed to have been Susy Clemens, the author's daughter (remember Mark Twain is the name used by Samuel Clemens). Susy died at age 24 of meningitis in 1896. This Large Print edition features easy to read 18 point type.
