Publisher's Synopsis

After landing on a rooftop in South Bend, Indiana, Roofus the Raindrop is on a search to find his dream home in a rain garden. After a long journey through downspouts, streets, and sewers, he ends up sitting in the bottom of the St. Joseph River covered in dirt instead of clean in a rain garden. His trip then takes him up in the sky towards white fluffy as he goes through the water cycle. After falling with other raindrops back to earth, he gets a second chance on finding what he is looking for. What will Roofus see after his second trip down a downspout?

Colleen grew up in the south side of South Bend, Indiana. In the summer after she graduated from Riley High School, she landed an internship through the City of South Bend and the several colleges and high schools in the area. The goal of the job was to find and promote ways to help restore Bowman Creek, a highly impaired creek in the area. Her main job was to build rain gardens in several locations around the neighborhood. After an attempt to create a presentation about the life cycle of a raindrop, Roofus came along and everyone loved him. Colleen now attends Indiana University, Bloomington and is majoring in environmental sciences. She plans to write and publish more children's books about the environment to encourage kids to preserve and appreciate the green earth that God gave them.
