In April, William Almy, Smith Brown, and Samuel Slater of Provin dence, Rhode Island, entered into articles Of copartnership, under the name of Almy, Brown (ft Slater, to carry on the spinning of cotton by water power, in which the last mentioned was to bear one half the expense, and be entitled to one half the profits.
