This volume surveys and evaluates the scholarly views concerning the problem of the ending of the Gospel of Mark, from the ante-Nicene Fathers to the present day. It questions whether "ephobounto gar" is a legitimate ending of the work. Realizing the peripheral issues related to the ending of Mark, care has been taken not to overextend the boundaries of this study.
