Publisher's Synopsis
This is a story about trust. The importance of it, how quickly it can be destroyed, and how difficult it can sometimes be to rebuild. Edward thought his twenty-five-year marriage to Carolyn was solid, as did Helen after her thirty years with George. It took but an instant for each to discover just how mistaken they were. Edward met Helen when she asked for his help to stop George's attempt to force his way back into her house and her life. Although neither of them was looking for romance, they developed a strong friendship and slowly regained the ability to trust again. As close as they were, each was afraid to admit to their innermost dreams of love, lest the other didn't share their feelings. Were it not for a couple of very determined friends, they could very well have spent the remainder of their lives as the friends they professed to be, each living out their life in fear of saying the wrong thing and possibly ruining the relationship they had.
