Excerpt from A Graded List of Common Words Difficult to Spell
An occasional oral review will be useful, and interest and attention may be secured by requit ing the pupils to correct mistakes without having their attention called to them by the teacher. The first boy, for example, has misspelled his word; the teacher without apparently noticing it gives another word to the second boy, who spells it correctly, but has not perceived the error of his neighbor; number three, however, spells his own word and corrects number one's mistake, which is thereupon charged to numbers one and two, and the attention of the class called to the correct spelling of the word.
