There are times that we make plans and it seems like everything goes wrong. During a vacation it rains all the time, A family get together and most the family does not show up, Or even the simplest task brings problems and what was timely and easy turns out to be the project from hell.I have learned that no matter what I plan, God's plan always supersedes them. I can't count how many times that I have had to change my plans for His. In this book you will see that God's plans took over when something went wrong with the surgery that I had.No matter what the Surgeon planned or how many times he had done this operation, even the best plans go wrong. There are times in our lives that things happen and we don't understand why it happened? There could be a sickness, or loss of a loved one, or even a financial setback. The Word of God states that "man can make his plans but it is God who has the final say so." I had a lot of things that I had planned to do this summer, I wanted to start teaching in the new church that my wife and I had just joined, and there were some churches that we wanted to go to and visit, I also was in the process of trying to help those with depression and anxiety by doing group speaking, because I have battled that before, and I wanted to start on a new book. I had some tests done and it revealed that I was in need of Open Heart Surgery. Through this ordeal I learned that we can make plans and hope they go the right way. The surgery to fix my valve and repair my aneurism was to be a 3 hour surgery but it took 4 hours. This began the journey was one of the hardest times of my life. The Doctor said that there should not be any problems, but God has the final say so. There is a reason for everything that happens, even though at the time that things are happening, we can't see it. This is the journey of God's plans for me and those around me. As I had died in my room when I had the heart attack and God brought me back. And another time in rehabilitation I was given the wrong medicine that caused me to almost die again, this time from of respiratory failure. I was in a battle for my life. My wife believed that satan was trying to kill me and keep me from ministering to God's people. But God had other plans. Even though this ordeal of dying and God breathing life back into me, and almost dying again, I learned more about God's Grace, Mercy and Strength than I have in the 35 years of ministry. I know that God has a purpose and a plan for everything that happens; I just could not see what His plan was for my wife and me enduring everything that we went through during this testing. The degree of pain that we both went through was horrendous. However, I have learned that any plans I have is of no consequence to the plans of God. God also brought out a part of my wife that had been lying dormant through the years as she became a Prayer Warrior for my life. As you read this book you will come to understand that no matter what we plan it is God's plan and purpose that prevails, and it is then we realize that He is a God of a second chance.
