Meet Karina Mari James, a beautiful broken seventeen-year-old from the mean streets of Detroit. She has never had a normal childhood like most kids her age. She never had nice things like all the kids she grew up around, she just never got the attention that she was longing for. She was abused every single day since she was five years old by the one person who was supposed to love and care for her the most; her mom. She realized she was not that little five year old girl anymore, now at seventeen she is finally fed up with her mother's bullshit, so she decides to stand up for herself and fight back, but she soon realizes that it wasn't the best idea because her mom then throws her out in the grimy streets of Detroit better known as the murder mitten. Karina is left feeling hopeless with nowhere to go, but on her journey she runs into the neighborhood cutie, Travis whom she secretly has had a crush on. Travis offers a listening ear and a helping hand, but that didn't end too well. She then goes to the next person whom she knows will never hurt or betray her like everyone else, her (BFF) best friend forever, Tamera. Tamera's mom, Ms. Julissa, overhear Karina telling her the story about getting kicked out after the fight with her mom. Ms. Julissa feels sorry for Karina and offers her to live with them for a while until she gets on her feet. Karina thinks that is the best thing ever to live with her BFF because nothing could ever go wrong, right...Or could it? Will the jealousy from the people surrounding Karina bring her life to a tragic end, or will Karina escape the grim reaper knocking at her door.
