At the level where the tooth rows diverge the depth of the maxilla is 39 mm., that of the overlying ridge formed by the intermaxillaries 19, a total vertical depth of 58 mm. At this point too, a low lateral ridge commences at the upper third of the maxillary, running back along the rising lateral edge of the bone, and parallel to the ascending Wing.
