Publisher's Synopsis
The fictional account of a British Winter attack on Valley Forge. The year is 1777 and the British are frustrated with the progress of their war against the rebels. King George is angry and annoyed with the reports from America. The war is draining the treasury and threatening valuable trade. The French are making noise about joining in on the Americans side. Historically, all armies retired to winter quarters rather than do battle in winter. But the British decide to change strategy and tactics and prepare the largest invasion force ever to attack the American Winter Quarters, Valley Forge. George Washington struggles into Winter camp after a series of losses. He herds a depleted force, very little supplies and almost no shelter into a forsaken valley. Additionally, he must deal with deserters, disease completed deployments and a corrupt congress. He is oblivious to the danger building twenty miles south in the city of Philadelphia. The mightiest Army in the world is gathering at the footstep of the weakened and unprepared rebel camp.
