Publisher's Synopsis
This volume presents an encounter between African and European scholars related to the study of the torah of the Hebrew Bible. Different approaches to the Pentateuch are topic of discussion especially the question how to correlate diachronical and synchronical approaches to the torah. All the contributions except from one are written in English.
