Publisher's Synopsis
A sequel to the monograph concerning roentgemocephalometry in normal lateralis, this book contains clinically relevant and diagnostically significant craniofacial measurements in normal frontalis for use as growth standards - accurate standards being essential to the clinical appraisal and delineation of craniofacial genetic syndromes and defects. The Altas provides age and sex-specific growth standards as well as percentile estimates for 95 measurement norms and ten proportional norms of North Americans (306 females, 236 males) of European ancestry ranging in age from 3 1/2 to 60 years. As such, these normative standards provide an objective and reliable data base for evaluating individual growth, studying developmental changes as a consequence of the growth process, and characterizing aberrant growth patterns. Data evaluates sex-specific age effects by plotting bivariate relationships between each measurement and chronological age (3 1/2-25 years); regression equations are used to make "adult" growth projections. Includes data on 34 sets of height, width and depth measurements for evaluation of symmetry/asymmetry in various anatomic components of the face.
