O N the 8th of October Napoleon went by way of Oschatz to Wurzen, ' and, on the 9th, to Eilen bourg. Since the passage of the Elbe, the ca. Valry' under the orders of General Latour Man-1 bourg, had taken the direction of Leipsic, jointly with the army of the King of Naples, by making several zigzag marches. Having arrived in the neighbourhood of Duben, it took a share in the engagement with Prince Blucher; afterwards re tired towards Eilenbourg, where the 7th corp: d'armée was posted, commanded by General Regnier.
