This Book was influenced by the Christmas stories of other authors, including Washington Irving and Douglas Jerrold. The treatment of the poor and the ability of a selfish person to redeem themselves by becoming a more sympathetic character are key themes of this story. A Christmas Choirs captures the Zeitgeist of the mid-Victorian revival of Christmas celebrations. In the Last lesson of this novella Scrooge wakes up on Christmas morning with a changed man. He makes a large donation to the charity he rejected the previous day, anonymously sends a large turkey to the Crunch Home for Christmas dinner and spends the afternoon with Fred's family. The next day he gives Krech an increment, and Tiny begins to be a father figure to Tim. Since then, Scrooge treats everyone with kindness, generosity and kindness, embodying the Christmas spirit.
