Publisher's Synopsis
A Tear by a Blurry Eyed Poet will capture your mind, heart, and spirit as each poem takes you on a journey to understanding the vivid mind of a man that was once confined. Usia Sondai's road traveled came with many bumps, bruises, and losses that could've confined his mind to stagnation and darkness. Instead, he used the pain to mold him into a solid, rooted man of integrity and depth, to stay real in a land that is abided by the seven deadly sins of the game. The occurrence of every tear that he shed and unseen wound inflicted, is eloquent in each poem, serving as a reminder for him to stay the course until the end. Baptized through his tears propelled him on his journey to reflect and remain open to receiving the God-given strength to go on, to remain hopeful that there will be more, that this too shall pass.
Usia Sondai served a consecutive 24 years in the California State Prison, and during that time he harnessed the will to focus on his life-long passion of writing. He wrote several novels of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and children's books. While serving time, he handwrote his first novel, To Be Free, and later discovered that it was thrown away during a cell move. Determined to share his story and message with the world, he rewrote, by memory, 200 plus pages on binder paper and kept it safe until he was finally free. His will and determination to create something out of the darkness serves as inspiration for others. You can contact Usia via email, at: [email protected]
