Publisher's Synopsis
Erwan Illian was an amateur photographer in his 20's living in New
York city at the end of the 1970's. One night he happened upon
a music venue called CBGB and decided to go in, unwittingly entering
the epicenter of the punk rock movement where countless
legendary bands had played. Intrigued, Illian went back a number of
times between 1979 and 1982, to capture the unique, electric
atmosphere and document a scene that has since become legendary.
