Publisher's Synopsis
The safest bet is always the one you don't make, but where's the fun in that?
Balor Kane is starting over. When his father, Connor Kane, dies unexpectedly from a heart attack, he and his mother learn that the family's business, Kanedy Enterprises, is in trouble. Connor had taken out a series of loans, placing the family in hot water and deep in debt. Not sure where else to turn, Balor reaches out to his uncle, Magnus Kane, and before he knows it, he's given a job working with his family members. He's enormously grateful and can't wait to renew the close bonds he once had with his cousins and uncle, but his mother's got other plans. She's not satisfied just moving back to Nashville and seeing her son take on a role as the manager of his own department. She wants Balor to rule the whole kingdom. Kanedy Productions and Enterprises are his birthright and she'll stop at nothing to see that he gets what she's certain he deserves.
Tori Darby is a bit of a wreck. She's perpetually running late and constantly feeling exhausted after working double shifts at the restaurant. When she's not trying to make money, she's spending it, investing in her future, by putting herself through college and finally finishing her masters' degree program. With all her obligations already stacked sky high, Tori doesn't need another distraction. But then, she bumps into Balor Kane, and her priorities shift.
What was at first just a chance meeting turns into a mild flirtation. And before they know it, Tori and Balor find themselves suddenly and irrevocably linked together. But will Balor accept yet another change altering his life? Will he devote himself to Tori and be able to ignore all his mother's scheming ways? And can Tori deal with the mounting stress?
