Billy Joseph 'BJ' Bongard finds himself in a position he's never been in before. A prisoner, beaten daily, with no hope for escape. When the woman he barely knows returns for him, he can't believe his good fortune. But now they're both running from the military, considered AWOL, and working with monks. When he's recovered enough to call for help, his family sweeps in as always. Working with monks, they discover a common enemy, and an unknown enemy. They also may discover something that the world has only speculated about. Billy must first keep his angel safe, then find out what the hell is really happening.
Janine Corvallo is breathless when she walks into command and sees the tall, gorgeous Billy Bongard. You'd have to be a fool, or blind, not to notice him. The scar on her face isn't something she can hide, and when his eyes bore into her, she's suddenly self-conscious and unsure of herself. She never expected to have to make a jail break and then return for him. But she just couldn't leave him behind. She couldn't. Chasing terrorists is one thing, but chasing mythical beings? Definitely not in her realm of expertise. Thank goodness she's been introduced Team Big. All she has to do now is survive long enough to ensure a life with Billy.
