Publisher's Synopsis
The Kansas 12th Infantry Regiment was assigned to duty by detachments on line between Kansas and Missouri. The regiment saw arduous service and lost approximately 10% of the men to disease.
The 12th was engaged in guarding and escorting trains and involved in numerous skirmishes with guerillas. They were also actively engaged at Baxter, Steele's Expedition to Camden March, Prairie D'Ann, and Jenkins' Ferry, Saline River.
