Jo Miller is known for being short, hot-headed, and breaking all the records at her training school. But it's all for nothing, and she knows it. She already knows how her sixteenth year will end-with her death in a "magnicar" crash like all her cousins before her. However, what she doesn't know is that they aren't dead, but are in fact, working with her grandmother to rebel against the corrupt government using assassins to target the lower class. Almost immediately after a tearful reunion with her cousins, she's whisked away on a mission that takes her for a dive into the most corrupt part of the government.
