Publisher's Synopsis
The Cichlid is absolutely a citizen of the arena. They may be observed in Asia, Africa, North the us, and, manifestly, South the usa. The flagship or type specimen for the breed is the South American cichlid, Cichla ocellaris. Quite a mouthful! A friendlier, and more common, name is the Peacock Bass or Peacock Cichlid. Even as all cichlids are part of the same (large) own family, the South American cichlids are colloquially referred to as the poster toddler for the breed.
