Publisher's Synopsis
Before the most recent Game Stop Mania, there has been Beatlemania (Rock and Roll), tulip mania, Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims, slavery, divine thrones, STYX and (Rolling) Stones and the Garden of Eden. At the heart of this story is the Dutch city of Leiden where the Pilgrims lived for a dozen years. At that time, the Dutch were at the beginning of the Dutch Golden Age powered by the Dutch East India Company. Leiden was also in the middle of the great boom and bust of tulip mania. During tulip mania, the characters keep up to date with the changing world around them and their former neighbors, the Pilgrims, thousands of miles away. Topics include: - Why did the Pilgrims leave England?- Why did the Pilgrims leave the Dutch Republic?- What did they learn from the Dutch?- Were they victims of piracy and/or slavery?- What happened after they left?- What does a failed assassination attempt have to do with the Pilgrims?
