We have used a database authored on MS Access to illustrate the processes required to get the system fully functional. Remember the term "Junk in, Junk out" is what you get if you do put junk into the system.

You can set it up to provide history information also use it life cycle management, reporting and you can track all costs for budgeting purposes. It is well worth knowing how such a system works as it will save you lots of effort creating Excel spreadsheets to do the same thing.
