By all means in his possession, he attempts to entice Rowan to accept his proposal, become his bride, and start a new dynasty of proud Bloodthirst Gene carriers. Thoroughly disgusted by the idea, Rowan does all she can to escape the Berserker fortress where she is held against her will. Eventually, she succeeds in getting away - but not before receiving the fateful inoculation that will change her life forever.
