Publisher's Synopsis
WHEN AN ARRANGED MARRIAGES BECOMES SOMETHING MORE..."I'm not sure that I'm ready to be married." Faith twisted her hands in her lap nervously. It wasn't' that she didn't want a family. She did. She had always thought that she would marry and have several children of her own. But she had dreamed that it would be with someone she loved and respected. Someone she'd grown fond of over a period of time and had planned a life with, not some random person her parents had picked out. "We just ask that you spend some time with him, that you try to get to know him and see what you think," her father said in a no-nonsense tone. "He and his family are quite favorable to the idea. You might be too if you give him a chance." Her father's eyes seemed to see right through her, and Faith shrank under his gaze. She nodded her head meekly. Of course, she couldn't deny her parents that. She would at least meet the man and then make her decision. But Faith already felt a small lump of despair forming in her stomach. She had a feeling that no matter how she felt about this match, it would end up happening and before she knew it she would be the bride of some young man her parents had picked out. "What's his name?" she asked timidly. "Daniel Yoder." Her father's voice was final as he stood from his spot and headed out of the living room. Faith watched him go, frustration building up inside her. She already knew Daniel Yoder and he was no one that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
