This Eighth volume of the Collected Works of Thomas Hodgskin presents several papers and journalistic articles from between 1837 and 1859. These include Peace, Law and Order (1842) and the very rarely available A Letter to Mr. George Stephen (1837).We find him again "speaking truth to power" in his by then established style. The ferociousness of many of his comments seems to reflect less concern with the potential dangers he was exposing himself to, which can be seen to illustrate a matured confidence.
