Scroll below to see and hear the score played in Finale.This advanced arrangement for Mixed Brass Ensemble and Organ is intended to be used both as a stand-alone feature work or to accompany congregational singing. It could also be performed as a trombone quartet. After a brass introduction, two verses of the hymn are introduced in a straight-forward manner in the concert key of Eb Major following the hymn as it would appear in a United Methodist Hymnal (#327). The third and fourth verses contain flourishes from the brass. A modulating interlude introduces the fourth and final verse in the concert key of F Major, followed with a short, rousing ending. For contrast, brass could be directed to be tacet on the second verse as determined by the conductor.Parts are doubled as such: Trumpet 1 doubles Trombone 1Trumpet 2 doubles Trombone 2Horn in F doubles Trombone 3Bass Trombone very similar to TubaThis arrangement will create a stirring and inspiring addition to any Easter celebration.
