Publisher's Synopsis
"This is what the Lord says: ...Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return. I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. None of them repent of their wickedness, saying, 'What have I done?' ...my people do not know the requirements of the Lord. How can you say, 'We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord, when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the Lord...'" (Jeremiah 8:4-9)
God's present-day people have settled into a deep and dangerous sleep. We have forgotten and have even changed the "requirements of the Lord." We say to ourselves, "[We] have need of nothing," and do not know that we "are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked..." (Revelation 3:17) Soon, all factions of the modern religious world will stand together on common ground. But upon what will we be standing? Will we be standing on the right side of truth? Or, will we be once again deceived by the ancient serpent into taking a position against our beneficent Creator? This book is a sobering reminder of some of the most vital truths that have long been forgotten by God's people.
