Publisher's Synopsis
The World of Joseph is the sixth and final book of The World That Was series. Subtitled Mentuhotep Vizier of Egypt the book tells the story of Joseph from just prior to his being sold as a slave and covers his time as a slave, prisoner, and Vizier.
Modern research points to the Vizier Mentuhotep as being Joseph. The time is right, the dynasty is right, and the events correspond to the Biblical events. Although it is now known that the capital of the 12 Dynasty was at Itjtawy (I-sh-Tau-wee) and the location is believed to have been found near or possibly at el-Lisht. So far there have been no excavations, so the author had to use research of other royal cities and palaces to provide the necessary details.
While the research into Egyptian history was like following a tangled web, it was vastly rewarding. Using more modern and accurate research not available only a decade ago, Mr. Riddle has managed to put together a believable and entertaining story that provides the reader with a satisfied reading experience that brings the Biblical account alive.
The book of over 300 pages in length is more than Christian Fiction or even Historical Fiction, as it has adventure and a touch of romance. This is a book that truly deserves a place in the libraries of history buffs.
