Publisher's Synopsis
ENNIO held one of his Nikons in one hand and wiped the lens with a tissue. He smiled thinking back to the first camera he owned, the old Praktica Derek had given him back in Israel, a
real clunky machine. The images of terrorist suspects, blindfolded, hands tied behind their backs, sitting in the dirt of the Gaza strip while waiting to be interrogated, had been the first he had ever sold - to Agence France Presse - 90 francs for six snaps. He didn't even know which buttons to press before Derek had shown him. 'Some people make a living out of it, you know, ' Derek said.
That was 1967, the year Derek was sent to cover the aftermath of the Six Day War. Ennio's smile widened further at the memory of the Israeli soldiers walking around like superheroes, covered in the flowers thrown by people in the street.
