Publisher's Synopsis
The Panavia Tornado is one of the most iconic combat aircraft of the past 40 years. Born of the need to produce a common European fighter, it became the mainstay of the RAF, Luftwaffe, Italian Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Force. It was produced in several versions, ranging from ground attack, to air defense, to reconnaissance, to suppression of enemy air defenses. Though retired from the RAF, it continues to serve Germany and Italy in the recce and SEAD missions. Like the other Illustrated titles "Tornado Illustrated" presents the history of this important fighter in 122 pages of stunning color photos, most of which have never appeared in print, and augmented with illustrations by the author.
