Relationships between morals and emotions are first derived theoretically against the background of the developmental psychological theories of Lawrence Kohlberg and Manfred Holodynskis and the respective discourses. On this basis, a hypothetical working model of Kohlberg's theory on moral judgment competence and Holodynski's theory of emotion will be created, and the measurement of both abilities will be discussed. Following the generation of a suitable measuring instrument, children and adolescents between the ages of ten and 17 in regular school types are examined with regard to the connection between these competencies. The influencing factors of age, educational level,
