Publisher's Synopsis

Synopsis:
The tale tells the dark story of a medical student from the United Kingdom, who becomes involved in the illegal business of desecrating bodies for further study. This initial situation culminates in the rapid escape of the Doctor, and the subsequent exit of Fettes from the scene, leaving the intrigue in the reader and in the rest of the characters. Quickly, the narrator character (present in that scene) begins with a recapitulation of past events, and exposes the events that occurred between Fettes and Macfarlane. The story, from this point on, traces Fettes from his medical studies in Edinburgh, the twists and turns that occur around Fettes and his profession and the events to which they lead.
The turn of interest in Fettes's history as a prosperous medical student occurs when he, led by a professor named Mr. K, and sometimes assisted by Macfarlane, enters the sordid world of trafficking in corpses that were used for his study. . Given the lack of specimens and the difficulty of desecrating cemeteries with their guards, they will kill to get them.
