Publisher's Synopsis
Jared Karlsson is desperate to go off-world and have some adventures, proving he doesn't just live in his father's shadow. Jared signs on with a visiting asteroid mining freighter and enjoys their lifestyle until a massive explosion changes everything, and he is called upon to pilot the ship for his injured captain. After a couple of grisly visits to nearby ships that were damaged by the explosion, Jared and Captain Taylor provide some much-needed assistance to the Oversight Station. By the time the two men return to Ganymede, Jared's opinion of his childhood home has changed. His first-hand experience with the deaths of his shipmates and others has given him a new perspective, including an increased appreciation of his family and their home.
