Publisher's Synopsis
Christmas for Dinosaurs follows two groups of cute dinosaurs at Christmas. Rex, Dippalina and a few of their friends and relatives live in Stegminster - a beautiful snowy village, where there is Christmas shopping to be done, cakes to be baked and presents to be wrapped. At the North Pole, we look in on Santa and his dino-elves who are busy making sure that all the toys are ready for Christmas, and that Santa's sleigh is loaded on time on Christmas Eve. Then it is back to Stegminster to see the happy young dinosaurs unwrap their presents and enjoy their Christmas gifts.
Children of all ages will enjoy the beautiful illustrations, with each page being enhanced by a Christmassy frame. The interior scenes are all set in warm cosy cottages decorated with Christmas trimmings, trees and baubles. Outside, on the snow-covered hills, the cute dinosaurs are dressed in winter clothes, hats and scarves and enjoy the snowy weather, each in their own, fun way.
Many favorite dinosaurs are represented. The 3D cartoon-style illustrations are friendly so as not to be too scary for younger readers, and children who know their dinosaurs will be able to identify the stegosaurus, diplodocus, triceratops, ankylosaurus and, of course, a brother and sister T. rex.
Christmas for Dinosaurs is one of those children's books that gets better with each reading. Children will soon know all the names of the characters and be able to tell their parents and loved ones who gets which present and who likes to go snowboarding, or which pair of dinosaurs play a distinctively dinosaur style winter game.
All good children's books are special in their own way, but because Christmas for Dinosaurs combines two of the elements that children love best, I imagine this one will be especially treasured - especially around Christmas time!
