Virtual dolls is a commentary on the doll-like aesthetic culture and pressures of the beauty industry fed to young girls and women. The ever growing pressure to curate a perfect face, body, outfit and life for social acceptance. I have used apps to dress up and curate my own virtual paper dolls. Something I did myself as a child. I then produced a short film clip called Virtual Dolls from the material. The film is available on my YouTube account @alexandramueller6022 The video contains errors, glitches and flashing images and may not be suitable for photosensitive viewers It represents anti-perfection and anti-beauty. The images in this art book are a collection of film stills.
