Publisher's Synopsis
Darryl Jenkins struggles up the steepness before him. Despite months of rigorous training to prepare himself for this mountain climbing experience, his breathing is heavy and his movements forced. The thin oxygen so high above sea level is taking its toll, he realises. He glances over his shoulder at the other climbers who are coming in single file behind him, but he quickly determines himself again with the guide who climbs the last part of Uhurupiek in front of him. He can almost taste the taste of victory.
