"In My Head 2nd Edition" is a continued collection of poems with an added bonus chapter, primarily about mental health, motivation, and wisdom over a lifetime. The author writes about experiences she has had through abandonment/ neglect in childhood, High school stress, serving in the U.S. Air Force, losing a parent young, a deployment to a combat zone, college academia, and the life of being a mental health therapist. All the while struggling with PTSD, depression, an eating disorder, hypersomnia, drug addiction and everything in between. The collection not only helps those struggling with mental illness, but also helped the writer have an outlet through the course of childhood and military traumas and various other stressors and grievances. Everyone can find something relatable, especially in terms of the emotional toll life can take.
