Aqu se analizan diversos aspectos de la migracin hacia los Estados Unidos desde los estados de Coahuila, Nuevo Len y Tamaulipas, en virtud de que la migracin en esta rea presenta caractersticas muy distintas a aquellas presentes en otras partes de la frontera. A travs de las distintas contribuciones se analiza el contexto histrico que ha destacado a algunas zonas por encima de otras; se estudian los nuevos patrones de la migracin que hacen relevante el estudio de la zona noreste; se presenta la puesta en marcha de las polticas antimigratorias de los ltimos aos, como el Operativo Ro Grande que se aplic en Texas en 1997; y se ofrecen datos de las crecientes de detenciones de indocumentados de origen centroamericano y brasileo en esta zona de la frontera. / This book analyzes the different aspects of the migration from Mexico to the United States from the states of Coahuila, Nuevo Len and Tamaulipas, because migration from this area is different from that occurring in other parts of the border. The various authors analyze the historical context that has made some areas stand out from others; study the new migration patterns which highlight the northeastern border as an important area; present the anti migratory policies of recent years such as the Ro Grande Operation in Texas in 1997 -; and give data on the increasing arrests of illegal workers from central America and Brasil.
